Beauty | My Stripped Back Skincare for VERY Dry Skin

I've been doing a lot of research into skincare lately and after being ill and super anxious my skin took the brunt of it. My skin was sore, dry and soooo flaky and made me feel like absolute crap. I literally went through a tub of Lush's skin drink which I love and although it eased it a bit but didn't soothe my skin.

I then decided I'm going to strip back my skincare, double cleanse and moisturise and thats it no toners, no extra creams just two simple steps. I was on the hunt for some super gentle moisturiser and came across the Aveeno skincare brand, After the first use honestly it stopped my skin from itching so much and it eased it almost instantly, I put it on before I went to bed and by morning it had already felt better, I continued to use it and since then have bought the giant bottle too! I use it on my face and body and the texture of my skin feels so so nice now, a definite staple for my skincare routine now!
Before I moisturise I obviously cleanse, the one cleanser that really moisturises my skin and is the best first step is this Lush Ultrabland cleanser, I have rambled on about this for so long! It honestly is amazing its almost like a butter texture and you simply rub into dry skin and take it off with a hot cloth or mitt and it leaves your skin ridiculously smooth and then I follow it with the Aveeno moisturiser and my skin just feels amazing!

These two products are for the same reason one of the areas that were super dry was the under eye area, I first spent £20 on The Body Shop 'Oils of Life' Eye Gel and it is amazing and super hydrating but it didn't soothe the itchiness for very long ( I ended up putting a tiny bit of Aveeno under my eyes which actually helped) then I came across Simple Hydrating Booster Eye Cream, I tried the tester on my hand in super drug and it felt amazing super dewy and super soft and delicate and I have been using this every morning and the body shop one at night.

My lip balm collection is a little out of hand. I have always had dry skin and I can't function if I realise I don't have a lip balm on me - seriously not an exaggeration. Well, the other day I didn't have any on me and I love my Burt's Bees but I wanted it in a tin form but they didn't have any in my local superdrug So I reluctantly purchased a Nivea lip balm I'm super fussy with lip balm and this one is actually my new favourite the texture is nice and creamy and it lasts a good while too, I have carried it everywhere with me and although I usually steer clear from 'fruity' lip balm this blueberry one I genuinely love.

I was honestly at my wits end the past two weeks with my skin and its never been so dry and sore like that before but it's definitely on its way now and it is all down to these products, I've actually really enjoyed this more relaxed skincare routine that still feels like a pamper. Do you suffer from dry skin? Have you tried any of these products?

Lifestyle | Blogger Festival Event 2017

I finally got to attend one of Scarlett Dixon's blogging events. the bloggers festival.
Scarlett's blog is amazing and she is super inspiring, you can find her blog [here] and stay up to date with upcoming events and her youtube videos!
This event has been running for four years now and I am so glad I got to attend this years bloggers festival, It felt a little daunting at first it always is at event I think if you go alone it feels a little bit like your first day at school all over again, I got chatting to one particular girl Ayesha who was the best type of person you would want to bump into when your feeling super nervous, We wandered the venue which I have to say was incredibly beautiful! The event was held at Conrad London St James. Its a 5 star hotel and it was just stunning, it had a gorgeous winding staircase that led you downstairs where we were greeted with champagne and a huge balloon wall.
There were tables full of gorgeous flatlays where we were lucky enough to get cute customised flatlay props - which I will be using all the time now!

They had a number of stools with all types of products from skincare to homeware and I was in my ultimate element, there were brands I was already familiar with like 7th heaven which were super generous with their goodie bag as you can see, they were promoting their new charcoal range which I have already used and I love the satisfaction of peeling it off and revealing super smooth skin.
There were two new brands in particular that stood out for me so I thought I'd give them a mention also.
The first one is Chelsea Candle, They are a small batch candle company based in kent, founded by Chelsey. The candles are high quality soy wax and fine fragrance oils, they are honestly beautiful scents and super strong without being overpowering, my favourite scent had to be 'Autumn Leaves' candle, I know every blogger will want this candle on their desk I am 100% going to buy it in a large candle. The candle I got is cranberry marmalade which smells like beautiful, it smells a little bit like christmas!

The other brand that I just thought was really cool and looked beautiful and related to my fellow bloggers and readers was 'Stackers'
Stackers looks very luxe and the products are made incredibly well and feel super expensive but are actually quite affordable. They are basically storage boxes/jewellery boxes that can stack on top of each other and everything fits perfectly inside looking pretty. This is perfect for honestly everyone they offer all sorts of trays to fit inside the boxes wether thats with ring holders, grids, or plain or open, perfect for bloggers who want to put all their flatlay props in one pretty box or for accessory lovers who want to keep all their accessories in stunning stackable boxes. I think the idea is genius and its a family run business which I love, I don't explain it very well but go and check the website [here] and have a nose or watch the video its an amazing product and will definitely look cute in my flatlay photos! The one above is the one I kindly got in my goodie bag and it is sat proudly on my dressing table, If your ever stuck for presents to get a loved one this would be perfect for most - they do mens too! I am thinking of doing a separate post on these/video what do you think?
You can also get 15% off if you use the code: BloggersFest10

I am looking forward to more events in the future and a huge well done to Scarlett for hosting an amazing event and thank you for the amazing goodie bag!

Lifestyle | Autumn Essentials

If you've visited this blog before you will already know my love for autumn I'm sure but if you are new to this blog then I will just inform you that I am fully obsessed with Autumn@
I don't even know where it came from in all honesty, I've always loved rain probably through to being influenced by my older sister who would get us playing in the garden in our pyjamas when it was pouring with rain then we would get a telling off for sneaking outside in our PJ's and no coats!

There are a number of things that spring to mind when I think of Autumn, which I've managed to round up in this post. I love the cosiness that comes along with Autumn, I love that you can really indulge in a lot more things like luxurious beauty products or really indulgent winter treats. The nights are become colder and darker which means we can snuggle under some blankets with some hot chocolate and watch some TV and get ready to watch the new series of stranger things (cannot wait!) it also means we have pumpkin spiced everything! (and gingerbread!) and I am dying to try Starbuck's caramelised pecan latte! Yes!

This time of the year I really start to knuckle down on my skincare - especially my hands! For overall face moisturiser I use Lush Cosmetics Skin Drink and it is my all time favourite! My hands get crazy dry. I have hand cream in my handbag, on my bedside anywhere I can grab it easily, the one I'm currently using and I am completely besotted with is the Bath & Bodyworks in the scent 'Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte' it has a gorgeous luxurious velvety texture, I hate greasy hand creams where you end u having to wait 10 minutes for it to finally sink in this one is not like that at all, it dries almost instant and leaves your hands feeling like silk and it honestly smells incredible, perfect for a sweet autumn scent🍂

A beauty trend that never fails me in the Autumn will always be the deep dark vampy lips! They are so flattering and give a super sexy look! Whatever your price range you can always find an autumn lip colour for you but if you want to indulge and treat yourself to a lipstick it should definitely be a deep red or berry lip! The Burts Bees matte lip crayon in 'Nape Vineyard' is just stunning its super dark and seductive and it is like a blood red but with berry tones I can't quite decide if its more red or berry, the application is amazing and it lasts a decent amount of time too! My other deep red faves are MAC's 'Russian Red' and 'Ruby Woo'. Russian Red is a super deep dark vampy red and Ruby Woo is more of a dark cherry red I guess. The lipliner I use for all of my dark reds is MAC's Cherry Lipliner just to keep things looking a lot sharper round the edges.
When it comes to deep berry lipsticks I love the Burberry Kisses Lipstick in the shade 'Bright Plum. My favourite though has to be Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks in 'Melted Fig' which is beautiful and lasts all day! I also love the shade 'Melted Berry' I think this is actually my all time favourite lipstick, it is such a beautiful colour and the colour pay off in these lipsticks are actually insane. They last all day without going cakey or drying my lips they are definitely my favourite brand of lipsticks and have been for a while now they seem to tick every box for me especially in the colder months when I want my makeup to stay put.
When it comes to eyes I stick to the darker and gold shades from my beloved Too faced 'Natural Love' Eyeshadow Palette, I bloody love it!
You just cannot beat curling up on the sofa with some blankets good TV and some snacks and drink! I absoloutly love the M&S american style cookies, My favourite ones are the maple syrup and pecan cookies and the salted caramel ones are insanely good!
Drinkwise, when it comes to hot drinks anyway. I love Twinings Gingerbread green tea with some honey or the salted caramel Green Tea, they both taste amazing! The other hot drink I always have is definitely Hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and caramel syrup its my absolute favourite combo! You cannot beat a toasted marshmallow hot chocolate by Costa though! I really want to try some of the Bluebird Tea Company teas, the Snowball one sounds amazing!
Also, my favourite alcoholic drink has to bee Brothers Toffee Apple Cider oh my its the tastiest alcoholic drink in the world, I remember having it when I was first with my other half when we visited Winter Wonderland - awwww!

The last autumn essential! Good company, good films and cosy nights in! I find that you can't have a cosy autumn night without candles and fairy lights, they make everything feel warm and so much cosier. I love blogging whilst having a nice caramel or gingerbread candle flickering away next to me, when its dark and gloomy outside theres nothing more relaxing. I mean, its optional really but I love having family or friends over for a good game night. Playing heads up or 5 second rule and snacking on all the comfort food and drinking all the toffee apple cider! Then chilling down with some blankets watching scary films! Perfect! Autumn definitely brings us more nights in which I'm actually so happy about!

My Autumn essentials. I cannot wait for more cosy nights with lots of treats and snacks watching scary films and stranger things! What are your Autumn Essentials?

Beauty | Burt's Bees Autumn Lip Products

The Autumn beauty trend I completely fall in love with every year is the dark vampy lips. Super sultry reds and beautiful berry hues.
I tend to wear a lot of white black and grey in the Autumn so the dark lip is definitely a way to make the over all look a bit bolder, although, this year I'm definitely leaning towards red fashion especially now I have gone brunette.

I can't wear any lipstick especially not matte lips without really prepping my lips first, I  always find through the transition of summer - autumn I get super dry sore lips so without moisturising them thoroughly lipstick would be a no go.
Burt's Bees have quickly become one of my favourite brands, they tick all the boxes for me and best of all they do exactly what they promise! I definitely take more care of my skin in the colder months, my collection of lip balms definitely grows bigger. This lip balm is honestly one of the best I have tried, I even prefer this to the Nuxe lip balm which isn't exactly cheap either. This limited edition ginger lip balm is so beautiful, It screams autumn with the gingerbread kind of scent and it is so nourishing and to be honest its all I've been using right now I adore it, all my lipsticks go on so smoothly with this underneath too.
Obviously, with my new found love for Burt's Bees, I had to try their lipsticks. This one is my favourite, its in the shade ' Nape Vineyard' and it is a gorgeous deep dark red with a berry kind of undertone, it's super dark and flattering. The application is so easy to apply with because of the crayon shaped tip and its not super drying either.
This combo has been a winner for me lately and I will definitely be keeping these in my handbag! Have you tried any of the Burt's Bees products? What did you think?

Hair & Beauty | New Season New Hair!

Okay, If you saw my 'New Hair' post in june I opted for a new 'do a short ashy blonde 'do to be precise, I have already changed my blonde locks and decided to switch it up and go a little darker, I have forever changed my hair since I was a teen, I've been with my other half for 3 years and I have had around 10 different hair colours/shades in that time frame, which is a fair few in 3 years especially when some people have the same hair colour or cut for years.

My natural hair colour is a mousy brown I would say and ever since I was younger I just loved the thought of having blonde hair, when I was around 13 or 14 I had some highlights and then by the time I was 16 I was a fully fledged blonde! I played around with pinks, reds, purples too. I am a complete makeup junkie and I personally think dark red lips on darker hair is just the ultimate look! Which is what initially made me fall for darker hair.
So now its September and its beginning to feel like autumn with the dark nights drawing in and the leaves starting to crunch up I thought why not go a little darker and more natural and fully embrace autumn and the colours! I started off going slightly dark but its so much softer for my skin tone I really like it :)

I kept the style the same I am still loving the 'lob' haircut I think its super sexy and grown up and after wearing hair extensions for 7 years I never thought I'd say that! I am soooo happy with this cut and colour and I cannot wait to style it all season!

What do you think? Blonde or Brunette? Mine is kind of in-between haha

Food | Afternoon Tea On The Lawn At Bourgee

Bourgee has become a regular anniversary spot for my boyfriend & I. The first time we dined at Bourgee we'd only been together 6 months and instantly loved it and planned to go back for our 1st year anniversary. Well, now we are into our third year together (it feels like our tenth year but y'know) and we was clearly going to spend it at our favourite spot. I wanted to try something different on their menu and I had been dying to have afternoon tea with him here because it is insane! So thats what we did.
To start off we had our signature drinks we have whenever we go out to eat, JD & Coke for him and a Raspberry Collins for me.
Bourgee have the most amazing spread for afternoon tea and it is not the typical boring cucumber sandwiches either, Their afternoon tea included open toasted lobster bagels in a gorgeous cheesy sauce, steak and caramelised onion with a tiny bit of mustard on brioche, warm sausage rolls, mini chocolate filled doughnuts with cinnamon sugar, crisp coated fruit skewers with a chocolate dip and a coconut dip, and the most amazing sponge cake!

The food was cooked to perfection, the beef at bourgee is just incredible and I've never eaten better steak in my life so I knew I would love the steak brioche, the sausage rolls I could've eaten a crate of! They were not greasy what so ever and so seasoned, the lobster bagels had tiny bits of mushrooms in (which I usually hate) but I polished the entire thing off it was beautiful! I can't even remember what the sponge cake was but it was a gorgeous victoria sponge topped off with a lovely fruity mousse,  it was so tasty and the cinnamon doughnuts were insane!

I honestly cannot rate Bourgee any higher, The food is always perfectly cooked and the service has never been anything less than amazing, I always recommend this restaurant and it is a firm favourite of mine. I cannot wait to try their sunday roasts and breakfast next!

Beauty | LookFantastic Beauty Box - September

This months Look Fantastic box is a gooden! Celebrating their birthday Look Fantastic created the birthday edit in this months box! The packaging of this box is so pretty as always and amazing inside! They also had their branding on a yummy elderflower lolly to celebrate, so cute!
This is such a cool product, I haven't actually seen this either, Its the Illamasqua mini contouring gel sculpt. This creates a super subtle contour and blends beautifully due to its gel texture and it can be layered to create a more intense effect. I really like this product, I much prefer using creamy contours rather than a powder so this is perfect for me.
I love this little palette, the eyeshadows are stunning, highly pigmented and with a mix of neutral matte and dark shimmer shades this will be perfect for autumn! The colours are honestly gorgeous, I have got into eye shadows a lot more recently after getting the too faced natural love palette and this is such a handy size to have on the go for touch ups too.
This is a volumizing paste with pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts which gives density to your hair while protecting and preserving your hair colour. I love any type of volumizing product especially since cutting my hair short but I have never used a paste before this product and I really love it!
This is one of my favourite products in this box it is super hydrating it helps my makeup go on super smoothly, its enriched with Moringa Olifeira extract and Neroli essential oils which hydrate the skin while creating a protective layer against pollution.
This is my other favourite in this box this is an amazing multi purpose cleanser with muslin cloth too. It leaves my skin super smooth and radiant, they work perfectly together exfoliating my skin at the same time, It feels like such a gorgeous luxe product when I use it, I have enjoyed using this product the most I think.
The last thing I pulled out was this super cute unicorn eye shadow brush which is honestly the softest eyeshadow brush ever and it looks so so pretty! Definitely perfect for the little quad eyeshadow palette which was in the box too.

I love the LookFantastic Beauty box! Are you subbed to any subscription boxes? Don't forget you can follow me on any social media platforms by clicking on the left hand side on any of the social media icons.
