Beauty | New Year, New Beauty Products

How satisfying is it, that January 1st was on a Monday? A complete fresh week to start the new year, worked wonders for my mindset! even if I have been pretty ill.
For some reason I really feel like this year I want to get into a better routine - including my beauty/skincare routine.

I'm in the current situation where I've stripped back my skincare but now I'm at the point where I don't want my skin to become 'immune' in a sense and stop my products being as beneficial for my skin, so I do like to switch it up every now and then, so what better time to start than in the new year?

My skin, as you probably know already is dry but also quite prone to blemishes. Since I started using the Lush Ultrabland Cleanser it has improved my skin massively, so now I suffer with just a couple of blemishes but its more dry than anything with some tiny dark spots/scarring. I will still continue to use the same cleanser but I want to introduce some more steps to my routine and I have probably bored you to tears with the amount I talk about this cleanser on this blog.

I was on the hunt to replenish and rejuvenate my skin, having it look and feel a little brighter and healthier, after Christmas and all the junk food my skin really needed it.
I checked out The Body Shop because I love their Oils of Life range, If you haven't already seen my 2017 beauty favourites you can see that 'here' and it featured the Oils of Life Eye Gel Cream which I honestly can't get enough of.

I found the Intensely Revitalising Bi-Phase Essence Lotion (The name confused me a bit) It basically acts as a toner you simply use it after cleansing and it preps your skin for the next steps. These two products are perfect for my skin to really refresh and brighten it up as it is looking pretty dull from the amount of food and alcohol consumed over Christmas!

I wanted to check out the rest of their range and came across the their intensely revitalising cream which genuinely sounded exactly what I was looking for!
It feels so luxurious and I love the way it feels on my skin, its not watery at all it's quite a thick, silky cream that sinks in to the skin quite quickly. I think its actually one of the nicest feeling moisturisers I have ever used, my skin feels so much softer and it looks so much smoother too.

These products combined are amazing, they feel super luxurious and they are really working for me, I love having 5 minutes in the evening to apply these two products after I've cleansed and relaxing in bed feeling like I've had a pamper. I seem to look after my skin better when I enjoy the routine so I'm excited to continue this and having freshly replenished skin for 2018.
I also really like using skincare from the same brand I find they all work together better than if I mix and match brands.
I am loving this little routine at the moment, it feels super luxe and 'proper' and its pretty simple so its been perfect even while I've been ill recently because it takes no time at all!
