why it's good to celebrate valentine's day

I see so many people (mainly on social media) complain about how Valentine’s Day is silly or you don’t need a certain day to show someone you love them, this is very true and I can see their point but do we need a certain day to eat pancakes? No? Do we do it throughout the year? Of course but are we going to celebrate it anyway? ABSOLUTELY.
It’s fun, it’s playful and it’s better than another mundane Wednesday or a happy hump day we have this Wednesday, today, to celebrate love!
We all should and do show it throughout the year but it is nice to have this one day to celebrate love and how important it is for everybody to feel it.
Whether you’ve been with your partner a decade or 1 month it’s still nice to send them a little card or if you have kids, take your children out for a huge pizza to celebrate, popping in to see your grandparents or even just having an extra special pamper night with your girls - or better yet a spa day!
Valentine’s isn’t just for couples, it’s for families, friends, neighbours it’s for everybody. I have really hated people slamming this holiday because there’s enough negative crap in this world we could really do with being nice to eachother on this one occasion even if it is just this one day everybody is nice. If you really don’t like this holiday then please just let others enjoy it, if you feel the need to write it down, jot it on some paper and bin it, don’t voice it on social media. Try commenting some nice things on someone’s blog post, or like a pic on Instagram just spread a little love today if you can whether you celebrate or not.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Lots of love

  1. That's so true comparing it to Pancake Day! My boyfriend and I haven't really bothered with it this year, I wrote a soppy tweet to him but we didn't do cards and gifts. We're saving to go to Japan so we figured it was better to put that money towards our holiday funds. It's nice to spread the love though and there's nothing wrong with a special day for it! x
