Today was amazing, waking up on my actual birthday in paris is an absolute dream, We didn’t exactly plan anything, we ordered room service and then headed out to explore we pretty much travelled all day on one of the open top tour buses, We got to see Notre Dame, The Louvre, the love lock bridge and lots of other gorgeous places.
On our way back we went for a walk along the river seine and decided to go for dinner on one of the boats, we luckily got seats at the front window which meant we had the most beautiful unobstructed views of paris while sailing down the river and got to see the places we see earlier on in the day from a different less busy view.
For starters we had duck foie gras with sourdough bread
For main we had beef cooked rare served with shallots and some sautéed potatoes.
and although I’m not a dessert person this course was my favourite! I had strawberry and rhubarb tart and my boyfriend had pistachio, nougat and morello cherry ice cream cheesecake and his was honestly amazing I had most of it to be honest!
After we left the boat there was a cute old french lady selling roses so my boyfriend bought a red rose and a white rose for me in paris – sounds so cute doesn’t it!
we headed back to our hotel and after my boyfriend disappeared for 5 minutes ‘to get some snacks’ he came up to the hotel room with a mini bottle of champagne which I was super excited about! once the champagne was finished we decided to head out to visit the Eiffel Tower at night it was about midnight and we couldn’t have timed it better as we walked up to the Eiffel Tower all lit up and looking beautiful the light show then started and I’ve seen it in pictures and videos but it is so pretty, it look like the Eiffel Tower is sparkling to elegantly, We laid down on the grass and watched the Eiffel Tower and I can honestly say its been one of the magical birthdays ever.
I really have fallen in love with paris, Its been amazing and I’m gutted tomorrow is my last day.
